Pictures and Tales of Pups 2022
Jake (Zip and Sparkle) is on a country wide adventure with his family. Now that mom and dad are retired, they have decided to see the country and Jake is traveling along. Looks like he is very well prepared.
Bex (Ursa x Chunk) being very cute and according to her owners, one of the smartest pups they have ever seen.
Bruno had quite the trip to North Dakota this year. Here is the report from his owner, Rusty: We did our annual trip to North Dakota in October and Bruno was incredible. He picked up 80% or better of the bird that the 6 of us shot. He retrieved a tundra swan and a huge greater Canada on that trip.
Lacey Mae (Henry x Daffne) with her new “toys”
Sage (Reeva from Chunk and Ursa) is catching on to the game very quickly. Momma Ursa is quite proud of her.
Nellie is now two-years old and has grown up to be a great hunting companion.
Meet Gumbo (Blueberry) from Daffne’s 2022 litter. Here he has joined the family for some fun on he water. As a hunting dog, he will be seeing plenty of water in his life.
Have you ever seen a cuter picture? This is Rosie, formerly Lemon from Daffne’s 2022 litter. This was taken on the first day in her new home.
From touring the country with mom and dad, to getting the job done in the marsh, Jake is having a great year!
Scout (Ursa x Chunk) is learning the ropes. His owner writes that he has gotten his first pheasants and even tracked down a wounded deer.
Bruno and his new sister, Layla (Henry x Daffne 2022), have become close friends.
Scout is from Chunk and Ursa and was born in 2022. Here he is pictured with a quail he found during his first introduction to birds.
This is Lacey-Mae formerly known as Grape, from Daffne’s latest litter.
This is Winnie engaging with her new doggie family. She is being a bit rambunctious.
This is Winnie, formerly Sutara, from Ursa’s most recent litter. She is learning all about the water and river with her new family
Sage was called Reeva while being raised here. He is beginning his water introduction in SD.
The little one is Coco (formerly known as Danica) and her new big sister is Winnie. They have become good friends.
Scout was formerly known as Sirius and is now in his new home back in Wisconsin
This is Bex (Seren) at eight weeks old retrieving his duck
Little Wren, born to Bernie and Ro, out for a swim at nine weeks of age. Sounds like dad may have been a bit excited.
Chase earned his Hunting Retriever title from the UKC/Hunting Retriever Club in June. Congratulations!
Splash is from a breeding between Henry and Ginger in 2021 and was once known as Panther. We received a terrific update on Splash from his owners Skip and Dawn, who closed their letter with, “He has truly been a blast to have around.” That is great and just what we want to hear. As you can see in the photo, it is a little cold where Splash lives, so his family does the right thing by taking proper precautions with his paws.
We were sent this picture of Wilbur Bud enjoying his pool. Love the slow-motion shot showing all his moves! He is the offspring of Brownie and Sparkle.
Splash living up to his name
Chase (Brownie x Kendra) recently completed the requirements for his first HRC title. His owner plans to continue the journey to the next level. Given his experience in the field, we suspect the next title is not far away
Kip is getting in a lot of socialization. Here he is shown visiting the goats at a local farm in Virginia. He has also been able to meet up with his litter mate, Poppy, for a play date with more to come. He lives with the Brown family and word is that he is doing pretty well in his new home.
Who is that puppy in the mirror? Why it is you Jenny. Jenny is a litter mate of Jasper as are the next two pups in the photos to follow. She lives in North Dakota and was perplexed by the puppy that kept showing up in the mirror. She will be the family's new hunting companion. They have had a number of AWS over the years
Poppy! What a face, so sweet and innocent looking. She was formerly known as Esther and now lives in Virginia not far from a littermate brother. Poppy gets to visit Michigan from time to time as well so maybe we will see her again as she grows up.
Jasper (formerly Algonquin or Al) is from Ginger's latest litter and now lives in Connecticut. The word is that he is adjusting well to his new family and keeping them on their toes. They look forward to many years of companionship at home and in the field.
