Ginger’s pups arrived right on time, Tuesday, September 19th. On the right above you see them in the incubator where they stay nice and warm when we have to take mom outside or give her some time away from the puppies.

UPDATE October 11: We were recently reminded that we have not listed the names we have given the pups while they are in our care. So, here they are; by the way our theme is grains.

Violet collar - Wheat (f) Blue collar - Barley (m) Green collar - Flax (m) Purple collar - Quinoa (f)

Yellow collar — Rice (f) Yellow collar with stripes - Millet (f) Orange collar - Oats (m)

Here is a picture of mom looking over her little brood of pups at one week of age. They are doing great and some are starting to get up on all four feet.

Here is a close-up shot of the pups which might help you see how much they have already grown.

A week later the pups are really romping, barking, and playing. It will soon be time to move them to a pen and start their litter training.

At three and a half weeks of age the pups began to be fed “puppy” food and took to it with great enthusiasm. On the left you see the pups’ first introduction to food and their progression to the feeding trays on the right.

As the pups have grown they have reached the time when they need more room to romp and to learn how to use their litter pans. On the left, you see the first pen and on the right their second pen which allows them to run around and play with ease of movement.

Wheat is on the left and Quinoa is on the right. They love checking out the yard.

It looks like enough room but still crowded

It was an Indian summer day so the pups got to be outside all day

No better way to enjoy a beautiful fall day than to get outside and go for a walk. That is just what these pups got to do.

Here is a quick video showing the pups at three weeks and how much they have grown. Personalities are starting to show and they are getting quite active.

A couple of others decided to join in but it looks like there is not quite enough room
