This is the BEFORE picture. Two hours before delivery began. Does she look uncomfortable?
The pups staying warm in the incubator while we change the bedding in their whelping box.
Here are the pups with their collars. They are five days old in this picture. Their litter names are listed below. Can you guess the theme? I bet you can but maybe you don't know why. If you look at the registered name of the sire, Geddy, it reflects that he is named in honor of Geddy Lee, the vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the band Rush.
Adele was the first to open her eyes.
She was 12 days old.
Snuggled up puppies.
Starting to sit, walk, and stand.
This is Bono in the blue collar.
The pups are beginning to play.
Their first feeding of puppy food.
Gaga cleaning up what everyone else left behind.
Dinner time for hungry pups and their new feeding system.
Their first time in the grass went very well.
Bono went exploring on his own.
Bath time for Prince. All pups get a bath just before microchips are inserted. Six weeks old.
Gaga loves the tunnel. She will run back-and-forth in the tunnel and, seemingly, never grow tired of it.
This picture was taken an hour AFTER her delivery was done. She was a tired mama by then.
There is no doubt that AWS love to snuggle and here are a couple that are getting an early start.
The boys are...
Red collar - Huey
Green collar - Sting
Blue collar - Bono
Purple collar - Prince
Orange collar - Otis
The girls are...
Lt Blue collar - Janis
Violet collar with dots / pink - Adele
Lt green collar - Gaga
Yellow collar - Whitney
Brown collar - Cher
Bono snuggles his sister Whitney.
Adele, now with a pink collar, starting
to stand and walk.
Mom and her babies at 14 days old.
Everyone is up and moving around.
Mom decides to clean up the leftovers.
Their first pen. This is a sure sign that they are growing up fast.
Ten pups just never seem to have enough room. This is their final pen. Thirty-six square feet with two litter pans and a crate. This seems to do the trick.
Pups usually take a while before using their crate routinely. This bunch took to it right away. All ten were sleeping in the crate in under an hour.
Eating outside. Its like a picnic.
Indoor play includes time with the play station.
The pups are checking out the tunnel. It quickly became a favorite play area.
As weather finally improved we were able to setup a pen outside. The sunshine kept the pups warm despite the cool breeze that would sometimes occur.
When our two litters were seven weeks (Ro's litter) and six weeks old (Daffne's litter), respectively, we decided to introduce them to one another.
Here is what it looks like to be swarmed by 17 puppies at one time. They had a great time.
A short video showing the pups beginning to walk. Soon they will be getting themselves into all sorts of predicaments.
