Ginger's American Water Spaniel pups new born

The pups arrived on a Sunday afternoon. A welcome change from the usual all night marathon.

Here are all the pups. Our theme for this litter is birds so the names are:

Woody (m) - Brown collar    Hawk (m) - Red collar

Eagle (m) - Gray collar    Dove (f) - Pink collar

Wren (f) - Orange collar    Robin (f) - Blue collar

At about five weeks of age the pups moved to a new pen in the walkout basement. They like having the extra room.

You can see two things in this picture. First, the size difference between Woody, so far the largest in the litter, and Eagle (he has a tendency to lose his collar), currently the smallest of the pups. The other thing you can see is that at about 10 days of age the pups began to walk on all fours.

Out of the box and into a pen. They settled right down and took a nap.. The toy quickly became a pillow.

They took to the crate right away. This helps them to transition to a regular crate when they are older.

After dinner a quick romp in the grass. Their first time in grass was uneventful.
