This picture was taken about two hours after they were born. The pups did very well right from the start.
Weigh-in time for Taurus. Pups are weighed at least once a day to monitor their weight gain and make sure they are growing as expected.
Dinner time and it is harder for all the pups to find room
Taurus likes the rope toy
A few days shy of turning four weeks of age and the pups got to have their first meal of puppy food
We let the pups out into the breezeway and mom followed. Then they attacked.
Taurus looking for trouble
We put the two litters (Ro’s and Ursa’s) together for a play session. Here are Pistachio, Hercules, and Lyra enjoying a warm spring day in the grass.
Leo looks like he is ready to eat a flower
Hercules always tries to retrieve something
Aquila trying to decide if he should eat the flower or continue to walk with the others
Leo showing off his stately show stack
Here are the pups with their collars. They are four days old in this picture. Their litter names are listed left to right by birth order.
The only girl is... Violet collar - Lyra
The boys are... Blue collar - Taurus, Red collar - Hercules, Yellow collar - Leo, Chartrues collar - Aquila

Leo sneaking in to get a drink. He is an opportunist.
After eating the pups needed a little something to wash it down, Mom was happy to oblige

Can you tell that Taurus loved the outdoors from the start?

Ro's pups ready to go on a walk-about
Hercules at seven weeks of age
Pretty little Lyra trying to decide if she should follow or go her own way
This was their last walk together. The next day the pups began to head to their new homes.
At two and a half weeks old the pups are up and moving around quite well.
